Refurbished Apple products

  • What is a refurbished product?

    A refurbished Apple product is a product that has been little used (opened once and returned to Apple, displayed in a store for a short time ...) and that Apple has decided to resell because of its excellent condition.

    The product undergoes a rigorous refurbishment process to make sure it’s up to Apple’s tough quality standards, after which there’s virtually no difference between the refurbished product and the brand new item.

    Apple refurbished products are only sold by Apple through the “Special Deals” section of the online Apple Store.

  • Why buy a refurbished product rather than a new one?

    The reason is very simple! A refurbished product is considerably less expensive than the new version of same model, what’s more, Apple sells it under the same conditions as if it were new :
    - same technical specifications;
    - same warranty (2 years);
    - same service agreement.

    To our knowledge, this is the only way of buying a new Apple product at once-in-a-lifetime price and without the risk of any unpleasant surprises.

  • Why use Refurb Store?

    Refurbished products on offer in Apple Store’s “Special Deals” section are in relatively short supply, and it’s impossible to reserve them in advance: it’s strictly first come, first served. Because Apple products are expensive, and because so many people are always looking for a bargain, it’s difficult to get the product you want at the best price.

    This is where Refurb Store comes in! Refurb Store overcomes this problem by automatically monitoring all the refurbished products that Apple has on offer. Refub Store allows you to choose the refurbished Apple product you’re looking for and then alerts you as soon as the item is in stock.

My account

  • Why do I need an account?

    If the product you’re looking for is out of stock, creating an account allows you to set up an alert that will notify you as soon as the product you’re looking for is available to purchase.

    It’s easy to create an account on Refurb Store and you can even use your Google or FaceBook to make it faster.

  • I’ve created an account, but I can’t log in?

    If you are unable to log in, it means that your password is incorrect. You should therefore reset your password.

  • Can I log in using a different email?

    For technical reasons, it’s not possible to change your email. If you want to use a different email, you should create a new account using your new email.

  • How do I delete my account?

    Log into your Refurb Store account and go to your profile. At the bottom of the page, you’ll find a button for deleting your account: warning, this action is irreversible.

My alerts

  • Why do I need to create an alert?

    If the product you’re looking for isn’t in stock, create an alert to receive notification as soon as it becomes available. The Refurb Store will send an instant notification to your email or to your mobile phone so that you can take advantage of the offer.

  • How do I modify/delete an alert?

    To modify an alert, simply go to “Alerts management” in your account and change the alert settings. Alerts that are no longer applicable can be deactivated or even deleted.

  • What’s the difference between the “summary” and the “real time” alert rates?

    On your profile, you have a choice of two alert rates:
    - Real-time: you are notified every time a refurbished product in stock matches one of your alert settings. This is the default.
    - Summary: you receive one notification per day when a refurbished product in stock matches one of your alerts. Although this rate allows you to limit the number of notifications, in may result in you missing out on some great opportunities.

My notifications

  • What types of notification are available?

    The Refurb Store can send notifications either by email or directly to your mobile phone if you’ve installed the Refurb Store app, available on iOS and Android.

  • When will I be notified?

    The number of notifications you receive each day depends on the “alert rate” you set in your profile:
    - Real time: you are notified every time a refurbished product in stock matches one of your alert settings. If a product matching your criteria remains available throughout the day, you receive notification every 8 hours. This is the default setting and guarantees that you are the first to be notified as soon as the product you are looking for is available.
    - Summary: you receive one notification each day when at least one refurbished product in stock matches the criteria of at least one of your alerts. So you receive a maximum of one notification per day when at least one product specified in your alerts is in stock. This limits the number of notifications per day but it may result in you missing some great deals.

  • What if I don’t want to receive notifications at certain times of the day?

    The “Do not disturb” function allows you to specify a period of time when you don’t wish to receive any notifications. The default is from 10 in the evening to 8 in the morning. You can change the settings in your profile.

    In order for this function to work properly, make sure you select the correct time zone. The time zone settings are in the same place as the “Do not disturb” function.

  • I’m getting too many notifications, what should I do?

    If you are receiving too many notifications, it means that your alert criteria are too broad and that the products you are looking for are regularly available. You can either:
    - make your criteria more restrictive on your active alerts;
    - disable/delete unnecessary alerts;
    - choose the “Summary” option for your alert rate, in your alerts preferences.

  • I received a notification, but when I visited the Refurb Store the product wasn’t available?

    This happens when the product you’re looking for is highly sought after. If you hesitate too long between the time you receive the notification and the time you visit the Refurb Store, someone else can easily beat you to it. So, try to be faster next time!

  • Why haven’t I received any notifications in my email?

    If you don’t receive notifications by email, go to your profile and check whether there’s a icon next to “Email notifications”. If there is, click it and follow the instructions to verify your email.

    Verify also that the emails from “no-reply@refurbstore.com” are not being sent directly to your email’s Spam folder.

  • Can my notifications be sent to another email address?

    For technical reasons, it’s not possible to change your email. If you want to use a different email, you should create a new account using your new email.

  • Why haven’t I received any notifications on my mobile phone?

    If you don’t receive notifications on your mobile phone, go to your profile and check whether there’s a icon on display. If there is, click it and follow the instructions.

    Also check that you haven’t blocked notifications to the Refurb Store app on your phone.

    If the problem persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

  • Who should I contact after I’ve placed my order?

    As your order was handled by the Apple Store, any questions or problems that may arise should be addressed directly to the Apple Store.
